Comfortable breathing and stress-free inhalation without panic reactions with SaHoMa®-II filter membranes
The SaHoMa®-II inhalation set for horses is currently the only inhalation device that uses filter membranes. We drew inspiration from human medicine for the SaHoMa®-II filter membrane, where filters have been used successfully for years. Not only to make inhalation therapy as effective as possible, but also to create the most hygienic conditions in the stable, we opted for replaceable filter membranes rather than exclusively rotary or inhalation/exhalation valves.
While valves make breathing even more difficult for sick horses with already labored breathing when closed, and excessive aerosol escapes when open, our filter membranes prevent precisely that. They ensure comfortable breathing with virtually no breathing resistance and thus the least possible stress inhalation. Without panic reactions and wide-eyed eyes in both horse and rider.
SaHoMa®-II filter membranes are made of a special filter fleece, which is also used for face masks. This extremely fine fabric reliably traps aerosol droplets between 5-10 µm and thus also the resulting aerosol. SaHoMa®-II filter membranes thus prevent contamination of the ambient air and thus a danger to nearby horses or people. This aspect plays a particularly important role in medicinal inhalation treatment.
By positioning the filter membranes directly in front of the horse's nostrils, they also capture the mucus secreted through your horse's nostrils during the inhalation process. In addition to filtering, the filter membranes also function as a tissue. Cough into the tissue, dispose of, and you're done. And everything is perfectly hygienic.
